Jobs the planner can assess
Examples include replacing an existing ceiling light, wall light, switch faceplate, socket faceplate, battery alarm, doorbell or lamp where the existing circuit is serviceable and the replacement is suitable.
Jobs that require electrician review
Tripping circuits, burning smells, heat or scorching, new circuits, consumer-unit work, significant alterations, uncertain earthing, special-location work and installations needing inspection, testing or certification.
Why the distinction matters
Domestic electrical work must meet Part P and relevant safety standards even where formal building-control approval is not required. The booking helper therefore flags condition, location and fault symptoms before offering a normal handyman estimate.
